Asherman’s Syndrome

Asherman’s syndrome is a rare disorder where scar tissue builds up inside the uterus, causing the uterine cavity to become smaller and resulting in pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, and sometimes fertility issues.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a condition where the endometrial tissue that lines the inside of the uterus grows outside the uterus, causing severe pelvic pain and fertility issues. Endometriosis can lead to scar tissue and inflammation in the pelvic region.

Fallopian Tubes

An important part of the reproductive system, fallopian tubes are a pair of muscular ducts that connect the uterus to the ovaries. When the fallopian tubes are blocked or damaged, it can cause fertility issues since it prevents the sperm from meeting the eggs.

PCOD

Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) is a condition where the ovaries produce and release large numbers of immature or partially mature eggs, which turn into cysts over time. This causes enlargement of the ovaries and the secretion of high levels of male hormones, known as androgens, resulting in an irregular menstrual cycle, infertility, abnormal weight gain and even hair loss.

Hysterectomy

A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure that removes the uterus, and sometimes the cervix, from the body to treat health issues like uterine prolapse, uterine fibroids, cancer, endometriosis, and more.

Ovarian Cyst Removal

A procedure to remove ovarian cysts is called an ovarian cystectomy. Cysts are fluid-filled sacs found on the ovaries. When the cyst is too large, ruptures or blocks the blood supply to the ovary, it causes symptoms and needs to be removed.

Myomectomy

A myomectomy is a surgical procedure that removes uterine fibroids while preserving the uterus, eliminating the need for a complete hysterectomy. Depending on the location, number, and size of the fibroids, either an abdominal, laparoscopic or hysteroscopic myomectomy can be performed.

Endometriosis Treatment

Endometriosis requires a combination of different methods to treat the condition. Some of the more common solutions include medication for the symptoms, hormone therapy, and surgeries like laparoscopy or hysterectomy.

Tubal Ligation Reversal

A tubal ligation reversal procedure reopens or reconnects the tubes that have gone through a tubal litigation to allow the sperm to meet the eggs, resulting in pregnancy.

Dilation and Curettage

A dilation and curettage surgical procedure where the cervix is dilated, and the abnormal tissues in the uterine lining are scraped with a curette. 

Tubal Ligation

Tubal litigation is a surgical procedure that blocks fallopian tubes by tying, burning, or cutting them. It is a more permanent form of birth control that blocks the sperm from meeting the eggs, preventing fertilisation and pregnancy.

Cervical Biopsy

A cervical biopsy is conducted to obtain tissue samples from the cervix to test for precancerous conditions, tissue abnormalities, or cancer. Different types of cervical biopsies include punch biopsy, cone biopsy, and endocervical curettage.

Oophorectomy

An oophorectomy is a surgical procedure that removes one or both of the ovaries. There can be various reasons why ovaries need to be removed, including large ovarian cysts, chronic pelvic pain, benign tumours, and so on.

Intrauterine Device (IUD) Placement

An IUD is a T-shaped birth control device that sits in the uterus to prevent the sperm from fertilising the eggs. It is also helpful in regulating heavy bleeding or menstrual pain.

Caesarean Section

C-Section, also known as Caesarean section or Caesarean birth, is a surgical method of delivering a baby by making an incision in the mother’s abdomen and uterus. It is an alternative method when vaginal delivery of the baby is not feasible.

Vaginal Childbirth

It is the most common way of childbirth, where the baby is delivered through the vagina by the mother. It is considered the safest form of childbirth when other complications are not involved.

Contraceptive Implant

A contraceptive implant is a small, flexible plastic rod inserted under the upper arm’s skin. It releases a steady, low dose of the hormone progesterone to prevent pregnancy for the next few years.

Microdochectomy

A microdochectomy is a surgical procedure that removes a milk duct from the breast. It is a common treatment for a continuous nipple discharge stemming from a single duct.

Fibroid Treatment

Since uterine fibroids are commonly benign, the treatment depends on the size, location and number of fibroids. Medication and fibroid surgery, such as a myomectomy, are the two most common treatments.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

PCOS is a metabolic disorder that occurs when the ovaries produce excessive androgen, leading to irregular menstrual cycles and the formation of numerous cysts in the ovaries. Patients also become prone to other health issues due to PCOS, such as diabetes or heart disease.

Uterine Fibroid

Uterine fibroids are abnormal growths of tissue inside the uterus wall. Common symptoms of fibroids include heavy bleeding, pain, irregular bleeding, and so on. Patients may or may not have symptoms, and the treatment depends on the symptoms they have.
